Organization:
The Association for Consortium Leadership is an educational, research, and professional association dedicated to advancing the leadership of higher education consortia throughout the United States and internationally.

ACL serves as the recognized authority in consortium leadership and collaboration in higher education, providing its members with access to specialized expertise, knowledge and training so they can successfully develop, lead, and manage consortia or other higher education partnerships.

Challenge:
Since its inception in 1975 the Association for Consortium Leadership (ACL) had promoted and supported consortial activities in the international higher education arena, but did not have a communications platform to deliver collaborative information to a larger audience.

Over the last five years consortial activities such as group purchasing, medical benefits consortia, and cloud computing have become even more important in the higher education, healthcare, research, and technology communities because of the present world financial crisis.

Solution:
College Benefits Publishing created, built, and managed the Consortia Publishing Group that included a print publication, website, weekly eNewsletter, and resource guide. The publishing group also created and managed a comprehensive database of the international collaborative community.

Result:
The publishing group delivered important collaborative information that helped facilitate many new consortial models throughout the higher education, healthcare, research and technology communities.

The comprehensive database system established a demographic profile of the international collaborative community that helps ACL and its members better understand and develop more effective solutions for their colleagues higher education, healthcare, research, and technology.
